What was that, dear readers? You can't see it properly from that distance? You want a close-up? OK then, here it is. Don't all guffaw at once.
It's nothing if not eye-catching! |
I've even backed it with a 70s floral sheet like so:
It's retro gone mad isn't it?
I think what it needs is a little companion - another knitted or crocheted cushion cover, in different colours, just to set it off as it's looking a little lonely on its ownsome on our bed. Mr J and P thinks that what it needs is to be unravelled. Cheeky blighter. On second thoughts, he might have a point........
Well, I've decided to ignore Mr J and P's opinion and I'll be posting my latest creation on Annie's Monthly Makes group for February. Here's hoping that I won't be drummed out of the group for bad taste!
Au revoir. xx
Eye catching it is! I think you're right though, it just needs a retro cushion buddy! :) x
ReplyDeleteThat is a rather fab retro cushion and is certainly very eye catching. You did a great job, mine would have had holes where it wasn't meant to have holes.... now you've got to make a matching pair.
ReplyDeleteJo xx
Certainly eye catching! But you and woodbankcrafts are right it does need a companion

Looks as if it might glow in the dark! Perhaps you could break up the expanse of orange by adding yellow / brown crochet flowers? Well done on doing it anyway - I can't crochet!
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant (in more ways than one). It would be a fab additiobn to our campervan. xxx
ReplyDeleteI think it captures that 70's feel perfectly. I'm definitely making some like this in the next couple of weeks as 2 would be just right for my son's bedroom which I've almost finished decorating in a funky retro 70's theme.
ReplyDeleteI think it's kind of sweet. If you think that's ugly you should see what I am sewing today, it will make you feel better about your cushion ~ Ill blog it tomorrow.

I think you've definately caught the 70's look there :0)
ReplyDeleteYou're right to ignore mr J&P, you must crochet a few just so they make more of an impact :0)

Thanks for commenting on my blog - therefore I've found yours which I know I'm going to enjoy. Oooh - jumble AND pompoms! Is that allowed?
ReplyDeleteYou AND your pillow are awesome, Loo!
ReplyDeleteI love orange and brown! In fact I have a piece of fabric that would go nicely with it, but hubby gave me very dirty looks when I suggested making cushions with it. It will probalby be safer for me if I use it for a bag.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of orange and brown myself but I wish I could crochet like that! :0)
ReplyDeleteI like it, very Retro! X
ReplyDeleteYes Loo I am totally BARKING but in my defence I like it because it reminds me of my Dad, he was a mechanic on lorries ;)
ReplyDeleteMind you looking at your cushion I reckon I've got good company in my barking mad world :D xx
Okay....I have got as far as looking at my crochets hooks. And my wool. And my crochet books.
ReplyDeleteAnd that was enough for me for one day!
What a wuss I am!

Great crochet.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your daughter will love Lily Alone, my youngest is already hooked and eldest is desperate to get reading after.

so pretty
ReplyDeleteI love that cushion, I think it is fab!!! And certainly retro :) xxx
ReplyDeleteI think it is just great, you would love my 100% wool crocheted rug my mum made in the 70's, exactly your colours you love!!! must photograph it, its so heavy, but lasted so well. Also, the backing you used, I had a doona cover in that exact print and it would be late 70's era I think. Have you got any left, if you are interested in a fat quarter swap I could send you something lovely too. I have been making random teatowel vintage sheet scatter cushions for our lounge and I would just love to see that memory amongst them all!!
